This is a tour dedicated to all of customers are going to visit the famous cave of Carrara’s marble. The Apuan Alps (Alpi Apuane) are a mountain range in northern TuscanyItaly. The name derives from the Apuani Ligures tribe that lived there in ancient times. The mountain range is known for its Carrara marble.The city contains a gate built in a former bog, a historical artifact that relates to strategic planning by the ancient Roman army. In Italian Forte dei Marmi means “Fort of the marbles”. The town takes its name from the fortress that rises in the middle of the main square, built under Grand Duke Peter Leopold, who was to become Leopold II, Holy Roman Emperor, in 1788. The fortress was built to defend the coast from outer attacks, but in the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century it became the place where the marble quarried from the Alpi Apuane (they are the same mountains of the famous marble of Carrara) was stocked before being sent to the pier for shipping.   • Wheel Chair Accessible : This service, available upon request, allows the vehicle to be configured from 8 passenger seats to 5 seats plus one for the disabled passenger, ensuring safe and easy access for those with mobility challenges. Please note that the wheelchair lift is installed only upon request and requires a minimum of 24 hours’ notice. Therefore, we kindly ask you to contact us in advance to ensure the service is available.Please note that while the driver can assist with boarding and disembarking, it is required that the disabled passenger is accompanied by an assistant during the journey.”
  • The vehicle will escort you for the entire service. Walking is limited unlike bus tour where you have to walk the whole day.
